Meet Ariane Beeston
Ariane is a former child protection worker and psychologist with the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
After experiencing postpartum psychosis following the birth of her first baby, Ariane joined Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) in 2018. She has worked on COPE’s national awareness campaign The Truth, the development of the Ready to COPE app and was the consumer representative of the expert working group for the National perinatal mental health guideline.
Her first book, Because I’m Not Myself, You See: A memoir of motherhood, madness and coming back from the brink was published in May.
We are thrilled to welcome Ariane Beeston as the new Ambassador for Mums Matter Psychology. Ariane brings a wealth of professional expertise, lived experience, and a passionate commitment to perinatal mental health, making her an extraordinary advocate for our mission.

After experiencing postpartum psychosis following the birth of her first child, Ariane turned her struggles into a source of strength and advocacy, paving the way for greater awareness and support for parents navigating mental health challenges.
