Memories are not always happy.

Do you have difficult memories that come back and torture you at inconvenient times?

Maybe triggers send you straight back to the event when you were distressed and fearful?

Maybe there is just a sense of ongoing sadness or loss? Life doesn’t feel as good as it could be...

EMDR helps difficult memories become just a part of your past.

What is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing - it is a powerful, evidence based therapy specifically designed for trauma and PTSD. It can also be very helpful for other mental health issues like depression, anxiety, complex grief, burnout, distress from recent life events and more.

What is this course?

We are offering a course of 3 online, Group EMDR sessions, led by Dr Caroline Lloyd.

As well as the EMDR sessions, you will receive some effective resources, to help prepare you for the EMDR.

Online EMDR is a very accessible, cost effective and private way to resolve your trauma, and get those difficult memories unstuck, so your life can be happier and you can concentrate on the things that matter, instead of constantly being drawn back to those difficult times.

How do I learn more about EMDR?

Feel free to listen to my podcast ‘The EMDR doctor podcast’ on spotify or Apple podcasts

- episode 22 is focussed on Group EMDR, but there is a lot of info in each session if you want to do a deep dive!

Or there is a great interview with Jameela Jamil on youtube;

Who is Dr Caroline Lloyd?

I’m Dr Caroline Lloyd (plese call me Caroline), the EMDRDoctor. I am a Mental Health GP, and I use EMDR daily to help my clients get ‘unstuck’ from their past. I work in private practice and at Cabrini Women’s Mental Health Centre where I admit clients for trauma treatment. I love what I do, in fact I often say that I am addicted to EMDR - it gives me such pleasure to watch people change in front of me, lose the distress and be able to ‘know’ something better about themselves. My journey to this point in time has been an eclectic one! I started in General Practice (part time as I really wanted to be an actor), did that for a while, worked in sexual health, cosmetic dermatology, surgical assisting, at the races (!) and in the bariatric surgery world which brought me to wanting to help people with eating disorders. From there I did a Masters in Counselling, worked at a NFP focussing on Family Violence and this led to me being trained in EMDR. Once I experienced a bit of the transformation that EMDR facilitates, I have embraced the magic of EMDR and focussed on treatment of trauma utilising EMDR. I am passionate about helping as many people as possible - I believe that the changes EMDR brings can only help the world be a more peaceful, calm, safe place to be in. Group EMDR training in 2023 revitalised my practice and opened up the opportunity to help more clients in a more financially accessible way, with the great results that EMDR provides. It is an innovative alternative to 1:1 therapy.
